66th Group Pages
We would like to welcome you to the 66th Beaver Group. Our meetings are held on Monday nights from 6:30pm to 7:30 pm. We have a parent to parent policy, which means that every child is accompanied to the meeting room by his /her Parent (or Legal Guardian) and is not released by our Leaders until the Beaver’s Parent (or legal Guardian) is present in the meeting room to pick up their child. Parents are welcome to stay and attend the meetings.

Our meeting location is upstairs in the Glenwood Church Hall building located behind the Church.

Our Beaver Group, like all the other Beaver Groups in Scouts Canada has a Dues system. The money collected from the Dues goes toward the cost of our supplies and materials we use during our meetings to create craft items, host various parties for the Children and provide treats during our season. Dues each week are $1.00. Each child is encouraged to earn their dues by being a good helper, setting a good example or using kind words to cheer someone up. When each Beaver arrives, they are asked what they did to earn their dues, we feel that this routine encourages the Children to be responsible, independent and feel important.

Children learn by example, so as Leaders we strive to set good examples for our Beavers. We encourage the children to get involved with their community in little ways and ask the Parents and Leaders to help our group with our fundraisers. Each year we try to expose the children to new things and allow them to use their imagination and positive attitude to express themselves. Our Group strives to provide the best possible advantages for the children in all of the Group 66th sections.

Our group will be participating in the following fundraisers this year; Pop can collection, Apple Day, Scout Popcorn (information to come) and Scout Trees as our last meeting day activity. Our Beavers have fun with these fundraisers and we hope that you will too. Our group also participates in bingos, bar-b-ques and car washes to name a few. The money raised from these fundraisers covers the expense for different events, special activities and outings our group provides for the children to enrich there experience in Scouting.

Our Beaver Group schedule will be handed out at our first meeting along with a list of each Leaders name and phone number. Please note that any one of our Leaders may be contacted if you have an issue, idea or question you wish to address. Information will be sent home or e-mailed on a weekly basis regarding the scheduled events and activities. Please ensure that we have correct phone numbers and e-mail addresses. E-mail is a very fast way to inform everyone of any changes, last minute information or communicate with Parents and Leaders. Please take a moment to fill in our contact sheet when you arrive on the first night. This information will be used only when needed by our Beaver group.

Again, we welcome you to our 66th Beaver Group and hope that everyone has fun and enjoys the program we have set out for this year. If you would like to become involved in our meetings as a Parent helper, Advisor or Leader please let us know and we will provide you with additional information.

Sincerely,

Your Beaver Leaders
